Grapenut

Grapenut (Michael Sutton, 2012) is a distinguished tall bearded iris, introduced by Sutton in 2013, and recognized with multiple awards including the Honorable Mention (2016), Award of Merit (2019), and the Knowlton Medal (2021). This midseason to very late bloomer reaches 24" (61 cm) and features elegantly ruffled standards in tan with dramatic dark purple midribs, complemented by tan style arms and a purple stigmatic lip. The falls are a deep, near-black violet, subtly lighter at the edges, and accented by beach brown beards.
