Gnu Blues

Gnu Blues (Brad Kasperek, 1993) is a remarkable tall bearded iris that commands attention with its painterly, medium violet blue blooms, each petal adorned with random, dramatic blotches of deeper blue violet. Standing at 36" (91 cm) and blooming midseason, this cultivar is further distinguished by its vibrant orange beards tipped in blue violet and a pronounced, memorable fragrance. With its bold, graphic coloration and lightly ruffled form, Gnu Blues is a true garden showpiece—perfect for collectors and those seeking a statement-making, award-winning iris. Honored with an Honorable Mention in 1996 and an Award of Merit in 1998, this field-stopping novelty from the cross Painted Plic x Babbling Brook is a must-have for any iris enthusiast.
