Gladiatrix

Gladiatrix (Lloyd Zurbrigg, 2003) is a bold, reblooming tall bearded iris that brings a gallery-worthy presence to any garden. Reaching an impressive 36" (91 cm), this early to midseason standout features luminous yellow standards with a light red overlay and matching style arms, accented by a dramatic red center streak and pale lip. The deep yellow falls are richly overlaid with red that intensifies toward the edge, finished with a fine, lighter border and a deeper red centerline. Tangerine orange beards, paler at the tips, add a vibrant pop, while the ruffled form and small, short horn lend sculptural appeal. Lightly fragrant and bred from Northward Ho x Rock Star, Gladiatrix is a pedigree-worthy, collector-grade iris that makes a memorable statement in the landscape. Available at Amethyst Creek Farm.
