Gates of Rome

Gates of Rome (Barry Blyth, 2008) is a tall bearded iris reaching 37" (94 cm), blooming in the late midseason. This variety features elegant champagne standards with a subtle violet flush along the midrib and matching champagne style arms. The falls are a rich burgundy-violet, beautifully ruffled and flared, complemented by muted soft bluish beards tipped with bronze. Gates of Rome offers a slight sweet fragrance, adding to its garden appeal. Bred from Mango Daiquiri sibling x Dinner Talk, this iris was introduced by Tempo Two in 2008/09.
