Frosty Spirit

Frosty Spirit (Richard Tasco, 2017) is a captivating Border Bearded iris that radiates refined elegance and collector appeal. Reaching 27" (69 cm) and blooming in the early midseason, this award-winning variety features ethereal, very pale light blue standards and falls, with even lighter centers and a few slender green veins accentuating the midribs. The moderately ruffled petals create a sculptural, gallery-worthy silhouette, while the beards transition from golden orange in the throat to a sophisticated wisteria blue (RHS 92A)—a color that deepens in cooler weather for a dynamic, ever-changing display. With up to 7 buds per stalk and a medium sweet fragrance, Frosty Spirit is a true garden showpiece. Its distinguished pedigree includes both rebloom and space-age genes, and it has been honored with the AIS Honorable Mention (2019), Award of Merit (2021), and the Knowlton Medal (2025). A remarkable addition for any discerning gardener seeking a memorable, medal-worthy centerpiece.
