Fire Down Below

‘Fire Down Below’ (Larry Lauer, 2002) is an Intermediate Bearded iris reaching 16" (40 cm) in height, blooming early in the season. This variety features violet purple standards and lighter violet purple style arms, with rich ruby red falls edged in a lighter hue. The oxblood red beards add a bold accent, while lightly ruffled petals and a pronounced sweet fragrance enhance its garden appeal. Bred from ‘Lollipop’ and notable seedlings, ‘Fire Down Below’ received an Honorable Mention from the American Iris Society in 2006. Available at Amethyst Creek Farm.
