Fashionably Late

‘Fashionably Late’ (Keith Keppel, 1997) is a tall bearded iris reaching 36" (91 cm) and blooming in the late season. This award-winning variety features standards in blended rose violet, complemented by greyed heather style arms. The falls are a harmonious blend of rose violet and old rose, with a subtle haft suffusion. Beards are antique red, deepening to scarlet vermilion in the throat, adding depth and interest. The blooms are ruffled and faintly laced, with a slight sweet fragrance. ‘Fashionably Late’ is the result of a cross between Newlywed and seedling 86-47A, and has received both the Honorable Mention (2002) and Award of Merit (2004) from the American Iris Society.
