Far Engine

Far Engine (Tom Burseen, 2014) is a truly extraordinary Tall Bearded iris, celebrated for its dynamic color palette and sculptural form. Towering at 35" (89 cm), this cultivar features cardinal red standards softly washed with light blue at the centers and a subtle tan-orange glow at the base, creating a painterly effect. The apricot style arms, tinged with red, add a refined accent, while the falls dazzle in rich currant red. Its beard is a vibrant blend of nasturtium orange bases and marigold orange tips, providing a vivid, eye-catching focal point. Far Engine’s blooms are notably flared and exceptionally ruffled, exuding a pronounced spicy fragrance that elevates any garden. As a sibling to 'Salsa And Chips,' this iris is a testament to Burseen’s visionary hybridizing—an unforgettable, collector-grade showpiece for the early to midseason landscape.
