Fantasy Ride

Fantasy Ride (Roger Duncan, 2009) is a tall bearded iris reaching 39" (99 cm), blooming early to midseason. This variety features diamond-dusted, cold white standards with a light lemon yellow deep at the base, complemented by cold white style arms and bright yellow fringing on the crest. The falls are cold white with buttercup yellow (RHS 15A) and white veining on the upper half, transitioning to a sanded spectrum violet (82B) that deepens to pansy violet (83A) at the end. A lemon yellow rim dotted with violet accents the bottom, while the sides display a clean white rim. The beards are a vivid hot Indian orange (32A). Lightly ruffled blooms are set off by light purple-based foliage and a slight sweet fragrance. Bred from Quandary X Arctic Burst, Fantasy Ride received an Honorable Mention from the American Iris Society in 2013. Available at Amethyst Creek Farm.
