Fabulous One

Fabulous One (Richard Nicodemus, 2005) is a tall bearded iris reaching 29" (74 cm) and blooming in the late midseason. This award-winning variety features light blue standards with a deep blue flush along the midrib, complemented by light blue style arms. The falls are a velvety, very deep rich blue, subtly lighter beside the beards, which are deep blue tipped with gold at the center and throat. The blooms are ruffled and set off by attractive purple-based foliage. Fabulous One is the result of a cross between Tempting Fate and Indigo Princess, introduced by Rockytop in 2006. It has received both the Honorable Mention (2008) and Award of Merit (2011) from the American Iris Society. Available at Amethyst Creek Farm.
