Dressed To Kill

Dressed To Kill (Paul Black, 2006) is a tall bearded iris reaching 38" (97 cm), blooming midseason to late. This variety features standards with a brassy gold center and diffuse margin, accented by a medium slate-violet area interlaced with brassy old-gold veins. The style arms display butter edges, a violet ridge, slate crest, and brassy gold edge. Falls are a deep red-purple, blending into a wide, paler greyed red-violet band, highlighted by a red-violet center stripe and an iridescent sheen. The beards are marigold in the throat, transitioning to dull marigold in the middle and violet at the end. Dressed To Kill offers a slight musky fragrance. Hybridized from Cranberry Sauce x High Class, it was introduced by Mid-America in 2006 and received an Honorable Mention in 2008. Available at Amethyst Creek Farm.
