Dragonheart

Dragonheart (Oscar Schick, 1999) is a commanding tall bearded iris that stands at 38" (97 cm) and delivers a memorable midseason display. This cultivar captivates with its rich, dark black cherry standards and falls, complemented by matching style arms and beards, all accented by copper-tipped hairs. A dramatic starburst of blue-white veining radiates from the beard, creating a graphic, pattern-forward effect that is both bold and painterly. Lightly ruffled petals and a slight musky fragrance add to its refined, garden-showpiece appeal. Dragonheart is a noteworthy cross of Almaden x Lady Fire, introduced in Stockton in 2000 and honored with an AIS Honorable Mention in 2002. A true landscape centerpiece for collectors and enthusiasts seeking a bloom with presence and pedigree. Available at Amethyst Creek Farm. Attributes: Fragrant, Ruffled Awards: Honorable Mention
