Distant Galaxy

Distant Galaxy (Mike Sutton, R. 2024) is a captivating SDB iris that commands attention with its bold, high-contrast color play and refined form. This early-season standout reaches 12" (30.5 cm), featuring dark moderate violet standards and dramatic dark purple style arms. The falls are a rich, intense purple, subtly lightening near the beard and accented by faint white dotting for a painterly effect. Beards glow with a white base and yellow-orange tips, adding a vibrant focal point. Distant Galaxy is further distinguished by its sweet fragrance and impressive garden presence—an extraordinary, pedigree-worthy addition from Sutton’s Iris Gardens (2025), bred from ‘Small Miracle’ X ‘Small Galaxy’.
