Discovered Treasure

Discovered Treasure (Thomas Johnson, 2005) is a tall bearded iris reaching 38" (97 cm) and blooming in midseason. This award-winning variety, honored with an Honorable Mention in 2008, features buff pink standards with a medium violet flush on the lower two-thirds, complemented by buff pink style arms with a subtle violet center. The falls display a rich medium orchid-violet hue, accented by an orange buff ground around the beards. The beards themselves are orange brown, with hairs that are medium orchid-violet at the base and tipped in orange. Lightly ruffled petals and a sweet fragrance add to its appeal.
