Dipped In Dots

Dipped In Dots (Paul Black, 2011) is a tall bearded iris reaching 46" (117 cm), introduced by Mid America in 2012. This late to very late bloomer features standards of chalky slate white with a greenish gold flush along the midrib and a wide brassy gold blended band. The style arms are brassy gold with rust tan streaks on the crests. Falls are white, heavily washed with mid-purple plicata markings that intensify toward the edges, finished with a narrow plum brown band rimmed in brass gold. The beards display a unique blend of violet-white at the base, transitioning to old gold tips and brown in the middle. Dipped In Dots is noted for its pronounced sweet fragrance and impressive garden performance, earning both the Honorable Mention (2014) and Award of Merit (2016) from the American Iris Society.
