Devoted

Devoted (Paul Black, 2005) is a gallery-worthy SDB iris that radiates with painterly sophistication and bold color contrast. Reaching 13" (33 cm) in height, this late midseason bloom features luminous, ruffled standards and style arms in medium violet, dramatically poised above rich wine-red falls edged with a refined medium violet rim. The plush, chenille-like beards—white-tipped with a glowing light yellow throat—are accentuated by distinctive short white rays, creating a graphic, high-impact focal point. Devoted’s sculptural form and subtle spicy fragrance add layers of sensory intrigue, while its robust growth habit ensures plentiful stalks and reliable performance. With an award-winning pedigree (Honorable Mention 2007, Award of Merit 2009), Devoted is a collector-grade centerpiece for any discerning gardener, available at Amethyst Creek Farm.
