Desert Moth (Keith Keppel, 2011) is a remarkable tall bearded iris that commands attention with its painterly blend of color and refined form. Reaching 30" (76 cm) and blooming midseason, this cultivar features coffee tan standards with a central wash and veining of old helio purple to amethyst, creating a dramatic, color-forward effect. Falls transition from sunlight yellow to amber, paling near the beard, which itself is a dynamic gradient from golden poppy in the throat to orange rufous and rusty orange at the tip. With its gallery-worthy coloration and pedigree parentage, Desert Moth is a collector-grade addition to any garden, offering a bold, unforgettable presence in the landscape.
