Desert Chaparral

Desert Chaparral (Keith Keppel, 2023) is a remarkable tall bearded iris that commands attention with its painterly blend of color and bold presence. Reaching 40" in height and blooming midseason, this cultivar features luminous light blue standards subtly flushed with green-yellow along the midrib and edge, complemented by green-yellow style arms and a lavender midrib. The falls are a crisp white, dramatically overlaid with chartreuse to pineapple hues across the upper petals, accented by darker, browner penciling at the center and a reed yellow reverse and marginal band. Saffron yellow beards with lavender bases and blue-white tipped ochre ends add a vibrant finishing touch.
