Deep Burgundy

Deep Burgundy (Michael Sutton, 2011) is a remarkable intermediate bearded iris that commands attention with its bold, color-forward design. Standing at 22" (56 cm), this early to midseason bloomer features rich ruby red standards and style arms, contrasted by falls with a luminous white and yellow ground, encircled by a dramatic ruby red band and intricate dotting. Violet veining in the throat and brick-colored beards add painterly detail, while the ruffled form and slight musky fragrance elevate its garden presence. With a pedigree from Little Surprise, Ahwahnee Princess, Double Click, and Straight Up, Deep Burgundy is a medal-worthy, exhibition-grade iris that earned an Honorable Mention from the American Iris Society in 2015. A true garden showpiece available from Amethyst Creek Farm. Attributes: Fragrant, Rebloomer, Ruffled, Veining Awards: Honorable Mention Rebloomer This cultivar is a known rebloomer.
