Dark Universe

Dark Universe (Keith Keppel, 2018) is a tall bearded iris reaching 35" (89 cm) with early bloom. This luminata variety features rich concord standards with subtle paler venation and a delicate ¹⁄₁₆˝ blue-white edge. The style arms transition from blue-white to wisteria violet, complementing velvety concord falls edged in minute blue-white. A white area beside the beard and a fine speckled transition add visual interest, while the haft displays a faint yellow edge deep in the throat. The beard is based white, with chrome yellow tips in the throat and lemon-yellow at the end. Bred from a distinguished lineage including Fancy Dress, New Leaf, and Moonlit Water, Dark Universe has earned both Honorable Mention (2021) and Award of Merit (2023).
