Creative Art (Richard Tasco, 2020) is a remarkable arilbred iris (OGB-) that commands attention with its painterly color palette and gallery-worthy presence. Reaching 28" (71 cm) and blooming midseason, this cultivar features luminous lavender-violet standards (RHS 80D) delicately veined with gold, especially at the midrib base. The old gold style arms are accented by a light plum ridge and dark lavender stigma, adding refined detail. Falls display a rich golden buff rim and shoulder, transitioning to a lighter golden buff between the rim and the dramatic burgundy signal, which is edged with eyelash veining for a graphic, artful effect. The beards are a dynamic blend: white-based in the throat and middle, shifting to lavender and violet at the ends, with tangerine orange tips in the throat and middle, and lavender-violet at the ends. Bred from ‘Feel the Heat’ X ‘Silent Sentry’ and introduced by Superstition in 2020, Creative Art earned an Honorable Mention in 2023.
