Cover Of Night

Cover Of Night (Paul Black, 2023) is a truly remarkable Tall Bearded Iris, standing 34" (86.5 cm) tall and blooming from midseason to very late for an extended display. Its standards showcase a luminous, iridescent violet-blue center that seamlessly blends into bold, dark purple-black bands, each edge delicately etched in black. The mid charcoal brown-black style arms add depth and intrigue. Falls are dramatic, featuring a radiant white half-moon spot around the beard, veined and stippled in black, set against a velvety black backdrop with a fine rim of white dots. Mid-gold beards provide a vivid accent, while a pronounced sweet fragrance elevates the sensory experience. With its high-contrast, painterly patterning and distinguished pedigree from ‘Laser Light Show’ and select Black seedlings, Cover Of Night is a collector-grade, conversation-starting showpiece for any refined iris collection. Available at Amethyst Creek Farm.
