Convergence (Kimberly Rieniets, 2024) is a remarkable tall bearded iris that commands attention with its painterly blend of color and early-season presence. Reaching 27" (68.5 cm), this garden-showpiece unfurls standards in a luminous lavender mist, subtly shaded with American violet at the base and midrib. The style arms echo this ethereal lavender, lightly brushed with violet. Falls are awash in the same lavender mist, delicately veined with pale yellow-green, while the reverse side is dramatically shaded in yellow-green, accentuated by a bold American violet midline. The throat and haft are veined in gold, leading to beards that transition from yellow-orange at the throat to light cyan, tipped again in yellow-orange, and finishing in light cyan at the end. Convergence is renowned for its pronounced sweet fragrance and often blooms in synchrony with the last spring snowstorm in zone 5b, making it a memorable and dynamic addition to any collection.
