Convention Queen

Convention Queen (Tell Muhlestein, 1953) is a tall bearded iris reaching 40" (102 cm), introduced in 1954. This midseason to late bloomer features a refined peach-pink self, classified as YO1, with parentage from Salmon Shell and Pink Fulfillment. Convention Queen has received notable recognition, including a High Commendation in 1953, Honorable Mention in 1955, and Judges Choice in 1956. Available at Amethyst Creek Farm. Guardian Garden irises are endangered cultivars preserved through long-term stewardship rather than routine sale. Many of these varieties have been lost to time through attrition, discontinued propagation, or the disappearance of original growers, leaving only a few known living examples in cultivation. When a Guardian Garden variety is offered, it reflects that a sustainable stock level has finally been reached within our collection; availability remains intentionally limited to protect the cultivar’s future.
