Coloradoan

Coloradoan (Tom Magee, 1995) is a commanding tall bearded iris that stands at 38" (97 cm) and delivers a memorable midseason display. This cultivar captivates with light tan standards and deeper tan style arms accented by a mulberry stripe. The buff falls are dramatically edged with a mulberry plicata halo, intensifying at the hafts, while a white area striped in mulberry surrounds the russet orange beards. Ruffled and laced petals add sculptural elegance, and a slight musky fragrance enhances its garden presence. With its painterly color contrasts and pedigree from Gigolo X Acoma, Coloradoan is a noteworthy, exhibition-grade addition for collectors and enthusiasts. Honorable Mention, 1998.
