Chief John Jolly (Tom Parkhill, 2003) is a tall bearded iris reaching 36" (91 cm), notable for its early bloom and subtle, complex coloration. Standards are buff tan with pale violet veining, complemented by yellow style arms shaded violet and a darker center. The falls are white with a distinct violet border and violet rays radiating from the burnt gold beards, which are tipped violet at the ends. This iris offers a slight spicy fragrance and is the result of a cross between Instructor and Momentum.
