Cherry Smoke

Cherry Smoke (Duane Meek, 1977) is a tall bearded iris introduced by D. & J. Gardens in 1978. This late midseason bloomer reaches 34" (86 cm) and features deeply saturated red-black standards and falls, all heavily ruffled for dramatic texture. The bronze beard is tipped with violet, adding a unique accent to the rich, dark blooms. Cherry Smoke is a result of the Montego Bay x Dark Valley cross and has been recognized with both an Honorable Mention (1980) and an Award of Merit (1982) from the American Iris Society.
