Burgundy Brown
$12.00
Burgundy Brown (James Gibson, 1978) is a gallery-worthy Tall Bearded iris that brings a bold, painterly presence to any garden. This early midseason rebloomer stands at 36" (91 cm), with refined edge trim and a pedigree that earned it an AIS Honorable Mention in 1982. The standards display a sophisticated greyed orange, softly blushed with violet over a muted yellow ground, while the falls feature a luminous bright yellow base, dramatically edged in a 3/8" band of greyed orange plicata. Distinctive thumbprints, a crisp white signal at the throat, and a greyed orange line extending from the beard add graphic, sculptural detail. Fertile and historic, Burgundy Brown is a collector-grade iris with opalescent, rich-toned color and a memorable, exhibition-ready form. Available at Amethyst Creek Farm.
