Buckeye Belle

Buckeye Belle is a celebrated peony hybrid (officinalis x albiflora) known for its medium-sized, semi-double blooms. The flowers feature large, dark red guard petals with a lustrous, polished finish that is rare among such deep hues. Narrower inner petals are informally arranged and interspersed with prominent stamens bearing yellow anthers and red filaments, while the carpels are elegantly enclosed in a cap of petals. Buckeye Belle blooms very early in the season, making it a standout addition to any garden. This variety has earned top honors, including the American Peony Society’s Gold Medal (2010) and the Award of Landscape Merit (2009), recognizing its exceptional garden performance and ornamental value. Available at Amethyst Creek Farm. Attributes: Frilled, Ruffled
