Brussels

Brussels (Thomas Johnson, 2003) is a tall bearded iris reaching 36" (91 cm) with a midseason bloom. This award-winning variety features medium dark blue standards with deeper veining and a darker base, complemented by matching style arms. The falls are an icy blue-white with greenish veining, creating a crisp, elegant contrast. Heavily ruffled petals and white beards add to its refined appearance, while a slight sweet fragrance enhances its garden appeal. Bred from Crowned Heads and a select seedling, Brussels was introduced by Mid-America in 2004 and has earned both Honorable Mention (2006) and Award of Merit (2008) from the American Iris Society.
