Bright Star Child

Bright Star Child (Carol Coleman, 2003) is a remarkable SDB iris that commands attention with its vivid color play and graphic patterning. Reaching 12" (31 cm) in midseason, this Sand Hollow introduction features luminous blue violet standards and style arms, contrasted by medium-sized falls with a dramatic violet-black spot that seamlessly blends to blue violet. A light blue line extends from the bold blue beard, creating a painterly, high-contrast effect. With its pedigree from 'Dark Vader' x 'Serenity Prayer' and an Honorable Mention in 2007, Bright Star Child is a collector-grade, exhibition-ready standout—perfect for adding a dynamic, showpiece presence to any garden. Available at Amethyst Creek Farm. Awards: Honorable Mention
