Bright and Shining Star

Bright and Shining Star (Paul Black, R. 2020) is a captivating Tall Bearded Iris that stands at 32 inches (81 cm) and blooms in the early to midseason. This exquisite iris features pristine white standards and falls, complemented by pale smoky violet style arms and mid brass-gold crests. The falls are adorned with mid grey haft veins and a narrow mid purple stitched plicata band, extending as a narrow line from the beard to the edge. The beard hairs are based white with mid yellow tips, adding to its intricate design. Notably, Bright and Shining Star exudes a pronounced spicy fragrance, enhancing its allure. This iris, a sibling of Out of the Dark, was introduced by Mid-America in 2020 and has been recognized with the Walther Cup and an Honorable Mention in 2022.
