Black Magic Woman

Black Magic Woman (Richard Tasco, 2008) is a tall bearded iris reaching 34" (86 cm) with early midseason bloom. This award-winning variety features dark red violet standards and matching style arms with lighter, delicately edged, fringed crests. The falls are a rich, satiny jet black (RHS202A), complemented by burnt persimmon orange beards and moderately ruffled form. Foliage displays a medium purple base, and blooms offer a very slight fragrance. Bred from Night Game x Romantic Evening, Black Magic Woman has received multiple honors, including the Honorable Mention (2010), Award of Merit (2012), and Wister Medal (2014).
