Billowing Waves

Billowing Waves (Keith Keppel, 2015) is a remarkable tall bearded iris that commands attention with its dynamic color play and sculptural form. Reaching 34" (86 cm) and blooming in the late midseason, this award-winning variety features cool white standards and blue-white style arms, accented by a blue-violet midrib. The falls are a vivid blue-purple, enhanced by paler veining and a refined 1/4" pale blue edge. The beards transition from light blue tipped pale yellow in the throat, to amber yellow in the middle, and finish with a bold chrome yellow end. With a pedigree from Silk Road x Roaring Twenties, Billowing Waves is a field-stopping, exhibition-grade iris that has earned both the Honorable Mention (2017) and Award of Merit (2022).
