Big Hat No Cows

Big Hat No Cows (Douglas Kanarowski, 2016) is a tall bearded iris reaching 47" (119 cm) with large, midseason blooms. This award-winning variety features mid yellow standards with a near transparent, violet-tinted diamond halo, and style arms of mid yellow with a pale blue-violet stigmatic lip. The falls display a dramatic triangular white zonal sunburst transitioning to light yellow at the shoulders, veined in cobalt-black, with a wide cobalt-blue band that shifts to violet-cobalt near the edge, finished with a ¼" pale blue-violet rim and a fine black-violet wire edge. The beard is cream-based with marigold-orange tips, and the blooms are diamond dusted for added sparkle. Purple-based foliage and a slight sweet fragrance complete its appeal.
