Autumn Explosion (Richard Tasco, 2013) is a tall bearded iris reaching 33" (84 cm), notable for its early midseason bloom and reliable rebloom. This award-winning variety features warm white standards densely dotted with rich red pansy-purple (RHS 83A), intensifying toward the edges. The style arms display pansy-purple ridges, while the falls present a crisp white ground heavily speckled with deeper red pansy-purple, with the speckling varying in intensity from flower to flower. The beard is white-based with golden-yellow tips in the center and throat, transitioning to purple-white at the end. Lightly ruffled petals and a sweet fragrance add to its appeal.
