Aurifero (William Mohr & Sydney B. Mitchell, 1923) is a gallery-worthy Tall Bearded iris that radiates heritage and artistry. This midseason, Color Class-B1L variety is the result of a thoughtful cross—(Marian Mohr x unknown) X Sherbert—showcasing luminous, soft lavender standards and falls gently washed in pale violet, highlighted by a golden beard and subtle yellow veining. Its painterly coloration and refined form create a memorable, collector-grade presence in the spring garden, making Aurifero a true standout for any iris enthusiast. Guardian Garden irises are endangered cultivars preserved through long-term stewardship rather than routine sale.
