Artists Palette (Chuck Chapman, 2000) is a remarkable tall bearded iris that commands attention with its painterly blend of colors and bold patterning. Reaching 38" (97 cm) and blooming midseason to late, this cultivar features violet standards with a hint of brown on the midrib and a purple rim, complemented by violet style arms. The falls are a rich butterscotch, edged lighter with a thin chocolate band, brown shoulders, and white haft markings. A wide, feathered violet band sweeps from the beard nearly to the edge, accented by olive highlights that transition to yellow at the tips. Butterscotch beards and ruffled, lightly laced petals complete its gallery-worthy presentation.
