Arizona Cave Painting

Arizona Cave Painting (Douglas Kanarowski, R. 2020) is a tall bearded iris reaching 38" (97 cm) and blooming early to midseason. This award-winning variety features pastel yellow standards with a pale peach midrib and base, complemented by pale peach style arms. The falls display a delicate pale sky blue, accented by a lightly stained pale apricot outer rim, a second rim of pale ivory-blue, and a bold, wide blackberry innermost band. A large ivory zone and pale apricot-sandstone shoulders add further dimension. Fiery orange beards and a slight spicy fragrance complete its unique appeal. Bred from Pop Idol X Jelly Bean Parade, Arizona Cave Painting was introduced by Mariposa Iris in 2020 and has received both an Honorable Mention (2022) and an Award of Merit (2024).
