All Too Exciting

‘All Too Exciting’ (Paul Black, 2018) is a tall bearded iris reaching 42" (107 cm), blooming midseason to late. This variety features white standards with a bold, wide mid red-purple plicata band, heavily sanded centers, and intermittent white dots along the edge, opening to a more pronounced white ground in the center. The style arms display a grey-grape ridge and crest base, accented with a gold edge and plum-brown crest. Falls are pale yellow to cream with a ½" mid purple plicata band, sanded and dotted within, and brown-black sanded vein hafts with a stripe extending from the end of the beard. The beards are a vibrant mid marigold. Notably ruffled and laced, ‘All Too Exciting’ is also distinguished by its pronounced sweet fragrance. Bred from ‘Tickle My Fancy’ crossed with seedling S91A, a sibling to ‘Raindrops Keep Falling’. Honored with an Honorable Mention in 2021. Available at Amethyst Creek Farm.
