Afternoon Delight

Afternoon Delight (Richard Ernst, 1983) is a tall bearded iris reaching 36" (91 cm) and blooming in midseason. This award-winning variety features lightly laced standards in light golden tan infused with lavender, while the falls are a soft lavender edged with a delicate 1/8" golden tan border. Gold shoulders and a white infusion near the yellow beard add further dimension to its refined color pattern. Bred from notable parentage, Afternoon Delight was introduced by Cooleys Gardens in 1985 and has received both the Honorable Mention (1989) and Award of Merit (1993) from the American Iris Society.
