Advanced Degree

Advanced Degree (Paul Black, 2011) is a tall bearded iris reaching 42" (107 cm), blooming from late midseason to very late. This variety features standards with a dramatic gradient: purple at the base, blending upward to grey-white, and finishing in a light pink at the upper third. The style arms are a delicate light to medium pink. Falls are warm white, blushed peach over the haft, with a palest peach overlay across the remainder of the petal. Vibrant tangerine beards add a vivid accent. The blooms are ruffled and laced, with a slight musky fragrance. Bred from 'Gothic Romance' crossed with a complex seedling lineage, Advanced Degree was introduced by Paul Black in 2011 and received an Honorable Mention from the American Iris Society in 2014.
