Iris Rot Diagnosis and Natural Treatment Guide

Rot can be a serious threat to irises, especially in warm or overly damp conditions. Understanding the difference between bacterial and fungal rot is essential to choosing the right treatment. At Amethyst Creek Farm, we use a combination of traditional horticultural science and natural remedies to care for our historic and rare iris collections.

⚠️ Important Tips

  • Always cut back to clean, firm tissue. Sanitize tools between plants.

  • Allow rhizomes to fully dry before replanting.

  • Avoid overhead watering and ensure good drainage.

  • If rot spreads or worsens, escalate to a fungicide like Cleary’s 3336.
